Qualifying Rules
Athletes who place first, second, third, or fourth, or who meet the ANG minimum performance standards for their sport at an ANG qualifying event, will qualify for the 2025 Australian National Games.
Entry Regulations
- 1. At the 2025 Australian National Games, swimmers will be eligible to compete in bonus events. These bonus events must be in the same stroke the athlete qualified for, but at a shorter distance. Athletes are required to submit seed times for their chosen bonus events, based on yard competitions. Seed times must be entered in minutes, seconds, and hundredths of a second (00:00.00) and must have been achieved within the 12 months prior to the registration deadline.
- 2. Swimmers are allowed to participate in up to six events, including any bonus events.
- 3. The 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard butterfly, and 400-yard individual medley cannot be entered as bonus events; swimmers must qualify directly in these events to compete.
- 4. Swimmers who qualify for the 400-yard or 200-yard individual medley may choose the 200-yard or 100-yard individual medley as a bonus event.
- 5. Swimmers are responsible for bringing their own suits, caps, goggles, towels, and other equipment. All swimwear must comply with United States Masters Swimming Rule 102.12 – Swimwear for Pool Competition.
- 6. Mixed relays consist of two male and two female swimmers. Participants may enter one 200-yard mixed medley relay and one 200-yard mixed freestyle relay. Relay captains can pre-register teams during online registration, and deck entries will also be accepted at the meet. Relay packets for deck entries will be available at the venue starting on the first day of competition. Swimmers on the same relay team do not need to be from the same state. Age groups for relays are the same as for individual events (50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, etc.), with the relay's age group determined by the youngest swimmer’s age as of December 31, 2025. Relay awards will follow the same structure as individual event awards.
Format
All swimming events will be conducted as timed finals.
Warm-up sessions will be available.
Swimmers participating in the 500-yard freestyle and 400-yard individual medley must check in at the venue.
Relay entry packets will be available starting on the first day of competition at the venue.
Awards will be given to the top 8 finishers in each event within each age division.
