Qualifying Rules
For 2025, Soccer event will be classified as an “OPEN Sport”. Teams do not need to qualify at a state qualifier.
Entry Regulations
- 1. Teams must consist of members of the same gender.
- 2. Team rosters are limited to 15 individuals, including non-playing coaches, captains, and bench personnel. No additional players may be added to the roster once the tournament begins.
- 3. There is no limit to the number of out-of-state players on a team’s roster; however, roster changes are only permitted as outlined in Rule F. The team captain is responsible for declaring the team's residency during registration, subject to ANG approval. If a rostered participant cannot compete, they may be replaced after the official registration deadline, but only for valid medical reasons. The ANG will determine the validity of change requests, which may be considered after the advertised registration deadline.
- 4. All registration and team rules also apply to non-playing coaches, captains, and bench personnel.
- 5. At the Australian National Games, athletes are allowed to compete on up to two teams per sport, provided that the teams are in different age divisions and scheduled to play in entirely separate sessions.
- 6. Age divisions for all team competitions will be based on the age of the youngest player on the team as of January 30, 2025.
Format
The competition format will be determined by the number of entries in each division.
Any game that is missed or forfeited during bracket play will be counted as a loss.
Awards will be given for 1st through 4th place in each event for every age division.
The ANG and LOC reserve the right to modify the tournament format for any age division based on the number of entries, space limitations, or other factors.
